LOCATION: Technology Services Division (Raleigh, NC)

POSITION TYPE: Permanent Full-time

 

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:  This position has broad responsibilities for the telecommunications strategy for the NC judicial branch of government, which includes all statewide court offices in 100 counties.  Responsibilities include all areas of telecommunications functions including VOIP, PBX, and CENTREX  systems.  Responsible for strategic and tactical planning.  Coordinates with customers, vendors, and management.  Oversees the day-to-day customer service and support activities for a mission-critical statewide telecommunications network.  Coordinates the scheduling, prioritizing and dispatching of services, and serves as a primary point of technical and operational interface with external contractors.  Other major responsibilities include supervising personnel including hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, Executive level reporting to include:  budgetary projections, expenses, and service level performance.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:  Strong leadership skills, comprehensive knowledge of managerial best practices, and a proven track record of successful large-scale project implementations are required. The successful candidate must possess a solid understanding of telecommunications principles have excellent organizational skills as well as, excellent oral and written communication skills. He or she must have the ability to work well with all levels of judicial staff including executive management.  . Candidates with design, implementation and management of Internet Protocol Telephony experience are preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel is necessary.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  Graduation from a four year college or university (preferably with a degree in computer science, business administration, or project management) with at least six years overall experience in the telecommunications/voice communications field including a minimum of two years project management experience.
