UNIX Engineer/Admin

We have an immediate need for an accomplished UNIX Engineer/Admin for our team in NYC; this position will be a 6 month contract with the potential for Perm/Fulltime; the position will be based in Midtown Manhattan.

Duties & Responsibilities: This position requires a well-rounded knowledge of UNIX Systems – Solaris 8/9/10 & Redhat Enterprise Linux 4 as well as any Storage or data migration products.  As a cutting-edge consulting company, FusionStorm is constantly developing and deploying the newest technologies for our clients.  While we would like a broad background in any related technologies the Primary Focus of this position will be to Engineer and Administrate multiple UNIX Networks with various interacting Infrastructure Technologies. Hands on Design & Administration Systems Evolution & Information Transformation Day to Day Support; on site self supporting project. Data Migration and Storage Best Practices

Required Experience: 4+ yrs exp with Solaris (8,9,10) & solid knowledge of Redhat Enterprise Linux 4. Strong knowledge of Solaris & Linux; as well as Symantec, Oracle and various additional Technologies is a plus. Veritas Foundation Suite, Veritas VVR, Experienced with CIFS & NFS, DNS, LDAP, Experience with migration data migration tools (i.e. RSYNC,Robocopy, etc...) Experience with Virtualization & Consolidation as well as Infrastructure Engineering, Design & Architecture are highly desired but not a must. Certifications in Solaris, Linux, Symantec and any other related technologies is highly desirable
