Position Description for Web Developer:

 

Provide primary support for process and communications intranet websites by ensuring content is updated and error free. Position will support Project Management and CIO Office websites. Other support tasks will be assigned as needed.

 

1) Design and maintain content for IT's intranet websites. Work with Project Management and CIO Office to ensure that the website data is current and accurate.

2) Create template-based and original designs for intranet sites. Build out site to IT specifications.

3) Present alternative ideas on content format to redesign existing web sites.

4) Create visual elements such as typography, color scheme, and general graphics to aid in presentation of web page.

 

Required General Skills for Web Developer:




1) Must be highly motivated, detail oriented, self-starter, can handle tight deadlines and simultaneous multiple projects while managing to the day-to-day deadlines.

2) Strong grammar, proofreading, and organizational skills.

3) Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

 

Required Technical Skills for Web Developer:

 

1) Web Designer/Developer - Intermediate with 2 years experience.

Experience with web design & publishing software-Adobe Creative Suite, Dreamweaver, Javascript, ASP, and HTML/XHTML/CSS front-end coding.  Experience with implementation tools such as Visual Source Safe and Rational ClearQuest helpful.

2) Web Content Developer - Intermediate with 2 years experience.

Understanding of web design principles, information architecture, navigation, content presentation and usability is essential. Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and familiarity with portal solutions.

3) Process Analyst - Intermediate with 1 year experience.

General understanding of process presentation (integrating process steps into an overall visual display) - Microsoft Office applications (primarily Visio, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint).
