Target Technology Services (TTS) is growing its Enterprise Architecture team to foster a more strategic approach to ensure our technology best supports the growth of our business. Be a part of our Technology Architecture team focusing on strategy, roadmaps, lifecycles and inventories of technical solutions. As a Sr. Technical Architect in Enterprise Architecture, you will provide technical vision and leadership for the improvement of technology architecture within Target Corporation. Drive future state technology vision via process reengineering and federation of best practices. Lead change by guiding a coalition of senior technical resources and evangelizing the architectural vision, strategy, and principles. See Yourself: Designing the processes, templates, and tools to document and store the current and future views of technologies employed at Target Working closely with senior technical leaders throughout TTS to define the future state vision of technology at Target Facilitating change across all of TTS to deliver on future state technology vision Calculating total cost of ownership of technology components and complete platforms Coordinating the introduction of new technologies and the retirement of sunsetted technologies Applying a global approach to technical solutions-both within a business area and across the enterprise Understanding interrelationships and impacts of systems and applications upon the enterprise wide technical environment Ensuring solutions are of high quality, high performance and scalable Creating and following technical standards and best practices including repeatable processes and deliverables Developing strategic plans and providing technical leadership across multiple projects end to end Maintaining a current knowledge of the technology industry and determining the impact of hardware and/or software upgrades on new and existing applications Maintaining a current understanding of the retail industry and providing a technical vision for determining the impact of retail trends for TTS Evaluating vendor products and determining software purchases Conducting or overseeing proof-of-concept initiatives to prove out solutions Performing R&D as needed and developing standards for new technology Participating in project planning, estimating and costing Communicating project status to all interested parties and ensuring team is on track to satisfy client expectations Identifying and escalating issues and, when necessary, pulls appropriate teams together to resolve issues Prioritizing workload and accomplishing assignments on time, ensuring deliverables are high quality Preparing and conducting technical instruction and mentoring for TTS team members Completing all administration in a timely and quality manner Leading virtual, cross-functional teams composed of senior technical resources Developing visual EA models that support leadership understanding and governance of technology principles and roadmaps Leadership in infrastructure strategic planning (POC planning, business and technology trends). Growing role in strategic planning, innovation and technology mapping Providing expertise in infrastructure hardware and software evaluation, selection and implementation Demonstrating growing infrastructure technical breadth, financial and business knowledge. Maintains technical depth Setting architectural standards and assessing the feasibility of architectural changes across TTS Effectively explaining technical solutions to TTS partners, business clients, and senior leadershipJob Requirements:Minimum Requirements: College degree and/or 10 years of IT business experience Able to identify patterns based on previous exposure to numerous techniques and tools Ability to understand interrelationships and impact of technologies upon the Target environment Broad experience across multiple platforms and technologies, including UNIX, Windows, IBM-MVS, SQL-Server, Oracle, DB2, Networking, Security. Experience with large-scale technology implementations of both built and purchased components Continuing education in current technologies Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to present to technical, non-technical, and senior management audiences Proven leadership capabilities, including interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and reasoning/analytical skills Good negotiation skills Good planning and organizational skills Self-starter who requires little supervision Works effectively with in a team Ability to works with confidential information Understands the retail business, technology and the application of technology to our businessDesired Requirements: Technical certifications Advanced degree, Masters or PhD.
