Purpose: Working within the Enterprise Application Management (EAM) group, youll work as an Application Owner. In this role, youll get exposure to many areas of the company, work with a wide variety of tools and technologies, and be exposed to many applications used by Target Corporation while increasing your business acumen. You will play a key role in ensuring our systems are stable and supportable, in consulting with our various application support personnel, helping to identify underlying root causes in order to implement long term solutions. Youll further maximize stability through working with development teams through various aspects of the development lifecycle to ensure systems changes will not impact stability, and help maintain a focus on longer-term supportability as development teams work to create new business functionality. In this role, you will be vital to Targets long-term success in Systems Capability. See Yourself: Running your portfolio like a business, working to drive down costs and ensure quality as well as stability Providing technical leadership and direction on assigned projects Gaining experience managing work within a sourced environment, directing and partnering with various contract resources Determining root cause of issues in a complex, multi-tiered environment in order to maximize stability Participating in cross-team root cause analysis to drive toward greater stability of production systems Assisting with application upgrades from the vendor and analyzing their impact to the Target environment Evaluating and anticipating the impact of technical solutions Writing technical specifications Translating technical solutions based on client needs and feasibility Determining the impact of hardware and software upgrades on new and existing application Evaluating vendor projects and preparing recommendations Adhering to standards and best practices, high performance, and scalable, repeatable processes and deliverables Leading team in resolution of production issues and problems Understanding interrelationships and impact of systems and applications upon the Target technical environment Setting priority and scheduling of production system enhancements and fixesJob Requirements:Minimum Requirements: 4-year college degree or equivalent IT industry experience Five years IT experience Ability to work on assigned tasks independently and assess and execute without direction Ability to perform complex analysis and tasks successfully and in a timely manner Function as an effective member of a team and demonstrate leadership on projects Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills for technical audiences Good interpersonal, problem solving, reasoning and analytical skills Experience with applications in a multi-tiered environment Knowledge of Java and Websphere technologies and/or distributed technologiesDesired Requirements: Two years systems and/or programming experience in technical areas Experience working with transaction-based applications Experience with job scheduling and systems monitoring software Experience/knowledge of Oracle Experience/knowledge of ETL & ATG UNIX knowledge with scripting experience Experience/knowledge of ITIL standards and practices Retail business experienceSee The Rewards Eligible team members will receive one of the best earnings packages anywhere, including competitive pay, all-around insurance coverage, 401(k), flexible scheduling, training and development and many other perks and benefits.
