AS/400 Sr. Systems Administrator

▪ The System Administrator will provide daily planning, scheduling, and production support within the AS/400 Support environment
▪ Responsible for all phases of project life-cycle including documentation
▪ Monitor and review solutions to ensure that business requirements are met in a timely manner
▪ Communicate status of capacity, performance and monitoring to business partners as required
▪ Provide all AS/400 Support functions, change management, SOP assurance, and business risk mitigation in a fast paced production environment
▪ Deliver effective and timely completion of all assigned responsibilities including preparation and monitoring of budgets, resource allocations, team members' individual development plans, objectives, and performance reviews
▪ Maintain a strong knowledge base of industry and technology trends as they apply to their area of responsibility
▪ Recommend improvements to our strategy and architecture based upon application of these trends.
▪ Provide technical leadership and recommendations to their team members and corresponding business users for all IT Governance
▪ The ability to converse with customers to achieve a win/win scenario during tenuous encounters
▪ Demonstrated experience collaborating and succeeding on a cross-functional team to enhance the business continuity
▪ Detailed experience Installing, configuring, maintaining and upgrading of iSeries (OS/400) operating system(s) on multiple machines.
▪ Experience problem solving in an operations environments
▪ Superior interpersonal communication skills, strong teamwork and leadership abilities.
▪ Well-organized with a proven project management background.
▪ Experience anticipating potential issues, troubleshoot, research, issues and problems associated with AS/400 performance, capacity, tuning, etc.
▪ Experience planning and executing Disaster Recovery, Maintenance, and testing of iSeries platforms in off-site DR Tests
▪ Retail AS/400 experience preferred
▪ Proficient on AS/400 platform, including RPG and CL Programming languages.
5-7 yrs iSeries (AS/400) TCP/IP Networking experience
▪ 5 yrs experience support and tuning Oracle Databases in an OpenSystems/AS/400 environment
▪ Reporting tools with dashboard and drill down capabilities
▪ Java knowledge for interface purposes
▪ Good working knowledge of industry leveraged AS/400 Monitoring and System Performance Tools
▪ 5-7 yrs MIMIX replication experience in a High-Availability environment
▪ Ability to analyze and define business, user and technical requirements
▪ 5+ years of Systems & Programming or related experience with strong practical knowledge of modern technologies including RPG ILE and SQL.
▪ Experience with ROBOT Scheduler or similar production tools
▪ Experience/Working knowledge with OS/400, CL, or RPG400
▪ Supervisory/Team Leader experience driving technical solutions in an AS/400 environment
▪ Broad knowledge of AS/400 application development background (AS/400, S/38, S/36, RPG, RPGIV, RPG ILE, RPG400, CL programming, Client Access) TCP/IP Networking, SDLC
▪ Extensive Performance Navigator Expertise
▪ Experience using IBM HMC to manage multiple LPAR’s
▪ Experience with IP (Island Pacific) preferred
▪ Retail IT experience preferred
