 Software Developer – ASP.Net Network Solutions is looking for an ASP/ASP.Net Developer to be a key member of the Software Development team in our office in Belleville, IL, near St. Louis, MO.  The Systems Developer is responsible for software architecture, coding, implementation, and maintenance.  As a member of the Software Development team near St. Louis, MO, this person will work closely with UI developers and Quality Assurance specialists to produce regular software maintenance and new feature releases. The ideal candidate will have experience building and maintaining a web application developed in ASP.net, VB.Net / C#, Javascript, and MS SQL.  Candidate must be able to solve a problem on his/her own by utilizing experience and other resources, as well as recognize when it is best to seek help.  This person will need to draw from a broad background in many disciplines of information technology including Microsoft SQL Server, Windows 2000/XP/2003 operating systems, development tools, application program interfaces, development methodologies, messaging software, application security, interoperability techniques, and development standards. Responsibilities: Software maintenance New feature development SQL Database administration Well skilled from front-end development to back-end development Mentor junior level developers Software performance testing and load analysis Develop administrative tools for internal staff use Communicate with lead developer and management issues requiring immediate attention Recommend solutions to existing or anticipated issues Be able to complete projects quickly and accurately with little or no supervision Work with the Development Team to review new functionality requests, document technical changes, and identify potential issues. Work with the Quality Assurance team to address identified defects and determine appropriate resolutions Document defects/resolutions using a bug tracking database and perform initial verification of corrections Work with technical writers as needed for documentation review Be a team player willing to put in the extra effort to deploy high-quality software in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment Requirements: 2+ years of web application development in an informal to semi-formal development environment Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or equivalent experience Ideal candidate should have the following experience: ASP – 2 years or more ASP.NET – 2 - 4 years VB/VB.NET – 2 - 4 years C# - 2 - 4 years ADO.NET – 1 - 2 years or more CSS - 4+ years Javascript – 1 - 2 years or more XML – 2 years or more HTML / XHTML – 2 years or more Experience utilizing third-party API/SDK Strong knowledge of development methodologies, standards, and best practices Solid analytical skills in assessing user, functional and technical requirements Working knowledge of functional, unit, and web testing techniques Working knowledge of web application security, understanding of vulnerabilities, countermeasures, and secure coding techniques Working knowledge of source code control tools and approaches Proven history of being able to work under pressure, manage multiple simultaneous projects, interface with customers and consistently meet deadlines Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information Preferences: Background in e-commerce development; including shopping carts, online order management systems, and online customer management systems A year or more of experience with Web service design and implementation Background in Object oriented programming and design Experience with any of the following: QuickBooks, eBay auction management/API, shipping providers/online shipping tools, Payment Gateway integration Experience with project requirements definition, analysis, and documentation Experience in project management with track records of successfully implementing projects on time and within budget Experience with a development methodology such as RAD or RUP    .
