About the Accounts Payable Specialist:

 

Prepares accurate and timely payments to vendors.  Maintains records and prepares reports of the company’s liabilities in accordance with audit standards and internal controls.

 

·  Processes daily supplier, agent, and employee billing media for payment. 

· Writes checks, voids checks and performs on-line check research, as assigned and in accordance with proper separation of duties.

· Produces and mails timely payments, including coordination of major check runs.

· Works directly with suppliers, agents, employees and internal clients.

· Researches full impact of AP transaction on the financial statement. Assist the AR department, GL accountants, and finance department in investigations/projects.

· Participates in month-end close process.

·  Assists internal and external auditors.

 

Skills Required:

 

· Strong math and analytical skills

· must manage time well

· computer literate (Microsoft Office)

· ability to maintain attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks

· consistent accuracy

· effective communications skills, both written and verbal
