STATEMENT OF WORK POSITION ROLE AND DELIVERABLES The Datamart/OLAP/Report Development Specialist position for the projects, reporting to the Agency?s IT Business Systems Unit Manager, is expected to: Partner with the Business Units and the Reporting team to assist with the design, development and implementation of an agency LINK enhancement projects, through progressive implementation, beginning with data, and expanding to incorporate all of the agency?s data, where feasible and practical. Partner with the IS Business Intelligence/LINK Reporting team to develop OLAP capabilities, conforming to established agency business requirements and data definitions. Concurrently, to a lesser degree, and subsequently, to a larger degree, an end-user interface to the datamart is required to be designed, developed and implemented. Responsibilities and Deliverables expected are: ? LINK Enhancement Projects reports development. Provide design specification, develop data extraction codes, report layout and implement the reports. ? Support the University of Kansas Results Oriented Management (ROM) tool that supports the agency outcomes ? Satisfactory, timely completion of all approved project milestones, dependencies, and deliverables with approved resources and costs. ? Analysis of current data environment and recommendation of next steps. ? Conceptual design of agency datamart, beginning with LINK data and progressing to incorporate other agency data sources ? Work with IS staff to develop and implement an agency datamart, with OLAP capability with focus on knowledge transfer necessary to ensure IS staff?s ability to maintain the environment long-term. ? Improve system productivity for agency staff so that more staff time can be spent directly serving children and families; ? Measurably and significantly reduce the time necessary for agency staff to request, receive and utilize agency data in their goal to improve the lives of children and families. REQUIRED DATAMART/OLAP SPECIALIST SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Refer to the State contract for experience and skill requirements for 5.3 Administrator-Technical Analyst 3 job classification. In addition to this background, the Agency requires: A minimum of seven (7) years experience developing and supporting operational databases, (5) of which must include design, development, implementation and maintenance of data warehouses/datamarts. MS SQL Server 7 and/or 2000, DTS, MS Analytical Services (OLAP), XML, IBM db2. Familiarity with MS SQL Server Reporting Services Tools, .NET Programming.
