Analyst - Plant Systems

 The primary responsibility of this position is to provide technical and functional support of desktop computers, laptops, applications, and related technology to Smithfield end users on PCs, laptops, supported enterprise systems, software/applications, and peripherals via telephone, written, electronic and personal communications.  Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines.  Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems and interaction with numerous computer platforms in complex client server environment, associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, application servers, database servers and administrative systems.  Candidate must have a Associates degree or equivalent training, 3-5 years of Help Desk/Desktop Support experience;  MCDST, MCSA, or A+ and Network+ and one relevant MCP certification; and two current major PC/laptop/printer manufacturer certifications (e.g., HP, Dell). Ideal candidate will comfortably communicate with customers, management (including senior management/executives), and peers in person and via electronic communications.  Candidate must be customer-service oriented, stays current with technology trends, and work independently and as a member of a team.  Must be experienced in providing remote support using tools such as Netmeeting, RDP, DameWare, VNC, etc.  Candidate will have strong analytical and interpersonal skills, excellent written /oral communication skills, problem solving skills, and good organizational skills; ability to lift up to 50 lbs, balance competing priorities, work in meat processing plant conditions, and multi-task and follow through tasks to completion.  You will have ability and willingness to work overtime, after hours and on weekends, including rotational on-call duty; good functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and a good knowledge and experience supporting of Outlook and Exchange Server.   Job information Company: Smithfield Job Title: Analyst - Plant Systems Status: Full Time, Employee Relavant Work Experience: 2+ to 5 Years Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Education Level: Associate Degree   Smithfield Offers Opportunity for advancement Training Competitive wages Excellent benefits Dynamic people Tuition assistance Paid holidays Pension programs 401K Smithfield is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
