Position Description:
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the nation's #1 Pediatric Hospital, is experiencing tremendous growth and change. We are currently involved in a multi-year program that will revolutionize systems and processes towards our electronic health record vision for all CHOP patients.This focus, utilizing the latest in clinical information systems, will propel CHOP to unquestioned leadership in meeting its patient centered initiatives. This program is using EPIC enterprise software as its technical core to marry healthcare operations and patient care processes across all care settings, 40 plus Primary Care, 20 plus sub-Specialty Practices as well as 400 plus in-patient/ICU beds.In the next 2-3 years, CHOP will redesign and implement new clinical processes and technologies for computerized provider order entry (CPOE), clinical documentation, decision support, charging, results reporting and patient/family access to the electronic medical health record (EHR) across the following departments:-Emergency Department-Pharmacy-Operating Rooms-Intensive Care and In-Patient Units-Primary Care-Specialty Care-Radiology-Day Services-Home CareWith over 15 years of advanced clinical systems experience (electronic CPOE, results reporting, medication management and clinical documentation), CHOP is seeking motivated and qualified candidates to lead our movement to the next generation of pediatrics EHR.In this position, you will be responsible for:• COMMUNICATION - conducts regular day-to-day communication with Epic’s installation team, reviews the software, analyzes business operations, and works with Epic and Business Representatives/Subject Matter Experts and end users to tailor the system to fit defined needs. Provide weekly status reports of activities to Project Managers.• ANALYSIS - performs in-depth analysis of workflows, work details and other technical details associated with the use of Epic software.• CONFIGURATION - populate databases for which they are the owner with assistance of the EPIC staff.• DOCUMENTATION - documents the internal procedures that will be used in conjunction with Epic applications. • SUPPORT – serves as primary support contact for specific areas of the Epic applications, and coordinates all questions and issues that arise during the project. Troubleshoots problems or questions from users, and provides documentation of problems and resolutions. • CHANGE CONTROL – develops and publishes change control requests in compliance with change management procedures.• TESTING - participate in upgrade testing as necessary.• PROJECT TEAM PARTICIPATION – completes all assigned tasks as defined in Project Plans and ensures project dependencies are managed as defined in the applicable Dependency Matrix. Qualifications:
*THERE ARE MULTIPLE POSITIONS AVAILABLE. LEVEL OF POSITION (LEVEL ONE OR SENIOR) WILL BE DETERMINED BASED ON SELECTED CANDIDATES BACKGROUND AND DEMONSTRATED SKILL SET***• BA/BS degree. Project Management experience working in the healthcare field is helpful.• 3 to 5 years experience working in a similar role implementing Epic, Eclipsys, Siemens, McKesson or Cerner clinical solutions in acute or ambulatory settings.• Strong analytical skills, specifically in matching workflow needs to software capabilities. • Strong customer support background, specifically in addressing software problems and in helping users adopt software.• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills are required for the successful management of this function.• Ability to prioritize work, excellent organizational skills and initiative to improve processes. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.• Prefer a working knowledge of a healthcare environment, as well as a working knowledge of Project Management Methodologies and Tools – e.g., Microsoft Project.
