Comsys is working on a 4 month contract to hire position for a web developer who has experience moving data from a mainframe environment to a web server based system using XML files. Java, C# coding to work with UNIX, UNIX Shell scripting and with mainframe MVS, Microfocus Cobol and experience with Life Insurance systems..... Local candidates only at this time.... do not apply unless you are local to Minneapolis currently.Required Skills:-- Developer Java, C#, etc.-- MVS Cobol-- UNIX Unix Shell Scripting-- XML file transferingOptional Skills: CA-Easytrieve Micro Focus CobolMinimum skills needed:Unix, Unix shell scripting, and XML.Must also have strong experience developing front-endsystems, with a Mainframe-MVS back-end.....Experience developing in personalized high-volume document composition solution and distributed output tool a major plus.Effectively communicate on large project teams, Strong understanding of the system/software/application development lifecycle, ACORDOptional: Documerge, Gunther, Messaging middlewareThe candidate will:Primarily be responsible for the design, build, testing, and deployment of Policy Print releases and modifications.Create and maintain standards and best practices for Policy components and digital output.On-time completion of analysis, design, programming, testing, and implementation of modifications as well as software/hardware upgrades.Work closely with customers, business analysts, quality analysts, and team members to provide technology and business-specificknowledge and expertise.Translate business and technical requirements into application modules.Provide Level Three estimates within 10% accuracy on work efforts. Manage the functional, data, and business rules required in a project.Code enhancements to existing systems and interfaces as well as new development.Projects range from small to large and complex.Develop or modify moderately complex software application modulesand subsystems using disciplined software development processes.Support for Quality Assurance during system and Model Office testing.Proactively seek assistance and make suggestions to the tasks that have issues and/or concerns.Work on multiple concurrent projects and provide status updates to the project manager and customers as needed; develop the testing plan and assure a high level of quality in the project.Provide technical support to other staff members.Provide support for production print systems.
