Application Development Manager

BACKGROUND

Veretech is an exciting company that offers Online Marketing solutions to the Automobile Industry.  Some of its clients include major manufacturers such as Chevrolet, Pontiac, Mitsubishi and Ford.  Veretech operates from its offices in Boca Raton, Florida. 

 

Now 7 years old, the company is stable, profitable and growing rapidly.   Its 25 employees enjoy secure, well paying jobs with great benefits, including health, dental, life insurance, a 401K plan and a pleasant working environment.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Veretech is an established and successful player in the online automotive industry.  The company wants to add a Manager of Application Development to help the business grow.

 

Veretech offers a great opportunity to someone who is comfortable managing a small team of talented professionals; overseeing development projects; nurturing development methodology and best practices, maintaining a current knowledge of industry trends.  . 

 

The goal is to effectively manage a technology mission that is highly functional, highly responsive, and reliable. 

 

The candidate should be comfortable with a hands-on role in an environment that makes use of the latest Microsoft tools and techniques.

 

The team currently consists of developers,  and a DBA. Contractors often augment the team as needed.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS5 years experience in information technology managementAutomotive background is desirable.  Ability to communicate confidently with business users at all levels;A strong business acumen and the ability to identify opportunities to solve complex business challenges using technology and IT methodology effectively.A solid technical knowledge of programming languages, systems architectures. Data base administration and implementation frameworks. Demonstrated success in the development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale systems; Demonstrated success in building and leading multi-disciplinary teams and supervising staff Proven team leadership with strong general management skills,  balanced judgment and a team collaboration approach in Strong experience in technology planning, project planning, and the ability to set and implement standards for IT development utilizing best practices to match the company culture. 4-year degree in Business, Computer Science or related field (a MBA is a real plus);
