Duties and Responsibilities: Analyzes and initiates configurations and other changes within the system per requirements. Analyzes applications or formulates logic for new systems, devises streamlined procedures, prepares flowcharting, performs coding of scripts or tools, tests/debugs these and rolls out to users. Tests solutions and ensures it meets specifications. Presents and validates solution with user. Balances requirements with technical feasibility and sets expectations on new projects. Recommends changes in development, maintenance and system standards. Determines resources and timeline. Provide operational support, resolving incident tickets and user service requests for users and development groups. Provide advanced server administration, expert Windows server setup and configuration service Provide server monitoring to ensure proactive corrective services. Provide server and application troubleshooting and corrective services Document configuration(s), script(s), groupings(s), maintenance, and processes. Ensure proper coordination with other IT Operations service groups and development groups Interface with vendors to maintain timely services and best possible pricing. Responsible for working with other technical team members to establish and maintain build and release standards. Responsible for maintaining 24/7 stability of our production applications. Ensures systems are running efficiently for users. Responds to incoming issues via tracking systems and proactively monitors system for problems. Trains system users if appropriate. Works with the business stakeholders and other programmers and analysts to develop a solution or enhance existing solution. Gathers information from users and works to understand their needs. Depending on role, writes specifications and/or writes code and communicates to business stakeholders. Must be comfortable working independently and self-managing time and tasks May direct the work of remote and off-shore team to deliver on projects, enhancements and other commitments. Requirements: Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience. Must have expert knowledge and experience with Windows Server 2000/2003 Must have expert knowledge and experience with Windows Active Directory 2000/2003 Must have good working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Internet Information Server. Must have basic working knowledge of Microsoft SQL server and know how to run basic queries. Project Management: five years of experience with multi-platform systems roll out. Participate in 7/24 on-call rotation to respond and resolve application issues to ensure ASP application is online. Virtual Machines: Advanced VMWare configuration; Lab Manager setup and administration. Microsoft VM experience also desirable Must be willing to part of regular “on-call” rotation for production monitoring and resolution of issues. Moderate travel may be required depending on business needs. Leadership skills: Must have the ability to direct a technical team and provide recommendations/suggestions that will assist with timely problem resolution. Administrative coordination: Must have good organizational skills and the ability the track and prioritize several tasks. Communication skills: Must have excellent customer interaction and written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to write basic scripts to automate common administrative and deployment tasks. Work Experience: 8+ years industry experience Troubleshooting skills. Should have the ability to isolate the cause of system failures and reconfigure system parameters to met user/system requirements.
