10438670Application Team CoordinatorContract to HirePortland, ORStart: ASAPOverview:The Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Team is responsible for EDI implementations and the ongoing support of current EDI customers.The EDI systems have interfaces with multiple applications that support the Client's business such as Freight Operations, Invoicing and Sales. With the many interfaces, the team is responsible for provisioning efforts to support internal IT teams in addition to implementation, maintenance, support and enhancement efforts for the external customer.The team currently has an opening for a Team Coordinator that will regularly interact with internal and/or external clients, corporate executives, IT management, and all IT groups, business units, and vendor representatives.The Application Team Coordinator is accountable for resource planning, project management and client relations.This position is open due to growth.Responsibilities:Facilitate and coordinate development, application support and maintenance, tools/application upgrades, and system testing.Participate in tactical project and support work as needed. Serve as subject matter expert on applications within the group.Balance the demands of new projects, maintenance and support, customer expectations and staff developmentAssign work to individuals based on availability and business prioritiesMeet frequently with IT and business managers to review strategy, tactics, and results.Meet with internal clients, vendors, and other professional contacts.Build and maintain relationships with business managers and IT team members.Collaborate in the development of IT strategies and initiatives that support internal clients objectives. Participate in special projects or task forces as requested.Actively participate in continuous process improvement efforts.Ensure a positive work environment and awareness of company goals and objectives.Assign projects and tasks to team members to help individuals achieve personal and business goals.Provide input to management for performance reviews, employee development, and department budgetsSome travel will be required. In addition, off-hours work and overtime may be necessary. The Application Team Coordinator may be called upon on or off-hours to facilitate resolution of issues and/or work with off-shore team members.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in computer science or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.5+ years of cross functional business experience including IT solutions development, technical project management, business analysis, budgeting, transportation management and/or logistics and/or supply chain management, and client/customer relationships.Ability to lead and manage professional staff to produce high quality results on time and within budgetAbility to receive and address employee related issuesAbility to balance the demands of new projects, maintenance and support, customer expectations and staff developmentAbility to manage customer expectations.Solid written and verbal communication skills in customer settings and with internal management.Solid active listening, facilitation and presentation skills.Solid knowledge of IT software development methodologies and Internet and Intranet architecture.Solid knowledge of EDI standards, EDI Translators and communication protocols (FTP, AS2, VAN)Solid knowledge of project management methodologies. Strong project and time management skills.Ability to establish strong business relationships and work effectively with senior business and client contacts.Ability to communicate business needs to technical people and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical people.Ability to bring resolution to highly complex and stressful situations with multiple constituents (information technology, operations, engineering, sales, vendors).
