Applications/Solutions Architect-Corporate Systems
The role of Applications/Solutions Architect is a standards based, forward looking function to manage the Corporate Systems information technology roadmap in particular as it pertains to applications/solutions. The focus is on defining the relationships, flows and implementation of business (processes/activities/functions, information), applications, data and technology in the enterprise and the transitional process necessary for implementing the solutions in response to changing business needs.
This role has knowledge of the current "as is" environment for infrastructure, data but primarily applications. This function works closely with the Infrastructure and Applications Development functions to envision the future technology needs to build and manage a world-class back office services organizations clearly linked with business objectives.
Duties/Responsibilities
/Experience
- Must understand back office system functionality such as financials analytics, purchasing, accounts payable, hr, legal .
- Must understand customer-facing systems such as email, voicemail, web, and video services
- Knowledge of several architectural platforms and how constraints effect development and operations of systems.
- Demonstrated experience integrating systems in multi-user, multi-platform, multitasking operating systems environments.
- Ability to analyze, learn, and apply rapidly changing technologies and apply them as part of integrated solutions to business requirements.
- Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence in the overall technology architecture, the architecture team's knowledge of and concern for customer requirements, and the change process to enhance the architecture.
- Ability to work with executives regarding technology issues. Business focused technologist
- Ability to codify different approaches, strategies, and expectations into a unified architectural blueprint. Understands issues and details of integrating diverse technology to deliver scaleable, robust, and high performance solutions.
- Superior project management/consulting and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to lead or facilitate complex, mission critical projects and to develop, participate in and lead multi-disciplinary work teams.
- Modeling, defining and documenting as-is and to-be Application Architectures and be able to link them back to business strategies and objectives
- Setting direction on the products and tools used for application analysis, design, development and management
- Assisting in establishing best practices for all application, information and knowledge engineering efforts
- Participating in related internal and external users groups and industry organizations
- Facilitating communication between the IT organizations and the business community; Coordinating with the IT Standards Committee and the Project Management office to accomplish the above goals
- Ability to construct high level and detailed technology roadmaps. Model, define, document as-is and to-be application architectures.
- Define technology and product options and recommendations and evaluation criteria for product selection.
- Review business object models (analysis models) and business process models. Assist with the definition of the business object models
- Define transition steps from the current to the future application architecture, including interoperability with existing application migration strategies
- Define system and operational requirements
Required/Preferred Certifications/Other Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent. Master's degree desirable.
5+ years experience as a progressive technology architect for OSS, BSS, and internal network functions in a wireless, telecommunications or media company.
Excellent managerial skills; collaborative, imaginative, resourceful, reliable, technically savvy.
Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent. Master's degree desirable.
