Operations Architect – Cisco Networks, Golden, CO

Duration: 2+ years contract.

 

The ideal candidate must have experience in designing LAN and WAN infrastructure from simple switches to complex redundant router/switch infrastructure.  Experience with ATM, MPLS and BGP a plus.  Should have knowledge and expertise in Architecture of Dispersed Operation Infrastructure and should have implemented Operations Architect for Cisco Networks.

Job description:Engineer, design, order install and manage LAN/WAN facilities in support of the Xcel Energy Electric and Gas utility. Job includes preparing cost proposals, maintaining network documentation, drawings, as well as working with circuit engineering team to develop corporate LAN/WAN infrastructure. Includes project management for small projects, change management for system implementation and ability to work with union personnel and subcontractors for scheduling and project completion. Must have operational skills, be willing to be on a rotating callout with some after hours work for problems or projects as needed.  Infrequent travel, limited to a day or two at a time.
