Associate Director, Global Information Security

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

Description: 

 

The Associate Director, Global Information Security, will be responsible for development and execution of the corporate information security strategy.  This person will work in partnership with all IT function heads and with business function heads throughout the Corporation in order to ensure effective alignment of the corporate information security strategy with strategic corporate goals.  Communication of this strategy to IT and to the business will be a key responsibility for this position.  He/she will work in partnership with the global information security group to develop and implement the strategy. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

1.  Develop and execute a global information security strategy for the Corporation.

2.  Liaise with IT function heads and business heads to drive the information security strategy.

3.  Provide direction to the Global Information Security department.

4.  Support business continuity and disaster recovery efforts.

5.  Support the security configuration and implementation of business systems.

6.  Support the implementation and management of information security appliances designed to safeguard the IT infrastructure.

7.  Direct the internal global information security monitoring program with regards to the protection of business critical information, management of access controls, and compliance with SOX requirements.

8.  Coordinate information security activities and responsibilities both within IT and with all affected business areas.

9.  Direct the global information security assessment program.  Assessments to be conducted periodically and on a formal master schedule by external parties and/or by internal audit resources.

10. Travel to all Celgene global offices, as required, to communicate program objectives to IT functions and client business functions regarding information security initiatives.

11. Develop, communicate, and coordinate the implementation of applicable information security policies, procedures and work practices.

12. Communicate program, project, and monitoring activity status to management.

13. Manage the departmental budget.

14. Mentor IT staff and promote career development opportunities for function personnel.

15. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.



 

Skills/Knowledge Required:

 

·  Experienced managing and administering global technical teams

·  Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

·  A demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with both internal and external colleagues and business partners

·  Strong ability to communicate in technical and business terms

·  Understanding of basic information security fundamentals

·  Understanding of applicable global regulatory requirements for financial controls and for the protection of personal information
