Title: Associate Wintel Implementation EngineerLocation: Silver Spring, CASkills: 1-2 years experience with Windows 2000 / 2003 server.RESPONSIBILITIES:1.) Work with a variety of technical and business teams to efficiently deploy and troubleshoot Wintel based systems in a large and complex enterprise environment.2.) Perform as an Associate level technical resource to other team Wintel members to promote and enforce technical excellence.3.) Assist in the creation, maintenance, and understanding of Implementation Services technical documentation.4.) Complete assigned tasks or projects to ensure strict adherence to KP standards and best practices.5.) Work with other senior IS Wintel team members, Wintel Engineering, Quality Assurance, and support teams to test and validate new engineered products and designs before implementation.6.) Effectively interact with other KP technical and business groups to achieve common goals.Minimum Requirements:1.) One to Two years of Wintel server history with experience in large scale, high availability, and multi-platform enterprise environments.2.) Demonstrated ability to work within and complete portions of multiple, complex projects under inflexible time commitments.3.) Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical issues clearly to business clients.4.) Proven ability to work effectively as an individual and member of a technical team to support Windows servers and the Citrix environment.Preferred Qualifications:5.) Experience with a demonstrated basic understanding of the following technologies:- Windows Server Operating systems -Backups (Tivoli Service Manager, Veritas/Symantec Backup Exec and NetBackup experience preferred)-Microsoft Windows Clustering-SAN Storage (EMC and IBM)-SQL-IIS-WINS-DNS-VMWare (a plus)-HP Rapid Deployment Pack (Altiris, xMDS, or other server provisioning products).-HP server hardware, including blade servers-Scripting (a plus)-HP Opsware application6.) Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) in Windows 2000 or 2003, or equivalent work experience.7.) Bachelors degree, preferably in Computer Science or related field or completed technical training courses related to support of Microsoft Windows Server products or equivalent work experience. Become competent in reporting and change management tools such as Remedy, NIKU, Concur, Asset Management, and Ariba (if required).2.) Learn, understand, and promote the core KPIT values and operating principles associated with a High Reliability Organization.3.) Demonstrate ability to work and function within a team based environment.4.) Exhibit knowledge of and practical skills associated with the Windows server platform.5.) Become proficient in deploying and troubleshooting KP engineered server solutions6.) Develop solid understanding of KP enterprise environment.7.) Begin developing relationships with senior IS team members, peers supporting other technologies and platforms, as well as the Wintel Engineering, Technical Services and Command Center teams, and other project management organizations.8.) Display and promote a service oriented approach towards meeting clients needs9.) Attend mandatory training for new Kaiser employees and all Change Management training classes.DELIVERABLES IN FIRST 120 DAYS:1.) Provide Associate level Wintel subject matter support for a large support environment.2.) Assist in creating processes and tools to make the Implementation Services Wintel teams more efficient and productive.3.) Assist with validating new KP engineered products and provide meaningful feedback to the Wintel Engineering team on design improvements.4.) Understand and properly use reporting and change management tools mentioned in First 90 Days section5.) Stay abreast of new and emerging technologies and recommend enhancements that will improve reliability, efficiency or TCO.6.) Continued growth in deliverables outlined in 90 Day section.DELIVERABLES IN FIRST YEAR:1.) Cement reputation as an Associate Wintel engineer through hard work, knowledge, and ability to competently deliver project taskings and support related assignments.2.) Gain a basic understanding of the KP enterprise environment, including a wide range of technologies and the personnel who support those technologies.3.) Develop a basic understanding of the business side of KP-IT, the organizational structure and our partnership with business.4.) Continued development of all prior deliverables5.)
