The selected candidate will be gathering requirements for building the infrastructure for an internal website.They currently have a data architect who will create the data models, however the BA would be instrumental in identifying the data attributes and needs to be able to understand the data models and confirm all the attributes defined have been taken into account in the data model.BA will not do any modeling. But key part of the role will be workingclosely with the modeler and greater team with validating and chasing down requirements to help ensure model and related processes are 'good'.Ultimately the data model needs to support the application functionalrequirements.This particular assignment will relate to requirements for data loads /flows. So anyone understanding data models and mapping data from files to databases to applications is a strong plus.Key activities will require documenting current state automatedend-to-end data load processes and requirements for new processing fornew application.Also will need to assist with identifying application requirements andhow they map to data attributes.Selected candidate will need to have strong documentation skills, be self managed and ideally have strong data experience.Description:Business Analysts are responsible for championing the interests and objectives of business owners within IT. A BA identifies, designs, and facilitates the application of technology in support of business processes. Candidates must be able to communicate with business owners, users and IT professionals with equal ease to create and preserve the functional integrity of the solution. Incumbents must have complete familiarity with the BI technologies and applications available to ATC, and a deep understanding of the businesses they support. This role serves as facilitator, analyst, designer and problem solver. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to operate in a team environment are essential, as are outstanding documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Work closely and interact directly with business owners and IT staff to identify, rationalize and document business requirements; then design and document practical, useful, and cost effective solutions in the form of functional specifications which become the basis for development and testing. Make process improvement and systems enhancement recommendations, leveraging best practices and professional experience. Obtain and maintain a deep understanding of source applications, customers and business processes within the areas they support. Maintain high levels of customer service at all times. Conduct application design sessions and moderate other discussions as necessary. Work with project leadership to communicate project status and issues to business owners. Work with project leadership to manage individual work load and assist with defining and prioritizing project tasks. Work effectively on multiple assignments, activities or projects. Collaborate closely with and assist application development teams when required to ensure the functional integrity of project deliverables. Work with project teams to develop detailed specifications for application functionality. Serve as the functionality expert while actively participating in testing, training, and user documentation development. Manage the capture and maintenance of a library of model documents, templates, best practices, and other re-usable knowledge assets. Serve as a subject matter expert in assigned subject areas and technologies. Lead and mentor other Business Analysts as needed or required; manage the peer review process within their team.
