Summary
Person will serve as a resource to internal and external projects as a consultant to gather requirements and design a solution that meets the stakeholders' needs. The candidate should have broad industry process experience, a background in EPC, Healthcare, Supply Chain or Packaging Engineering would be preferred. Leveraging business experience to determine the proper application of GS1 technologies is a key component for the potential jobholder.
The position includes the active facilitation of user groups to determine requirements and to present a proposed solution using GS1 technologies. A crucial piece of the development process is the gaining of consensus amongst an international group of stakeholders while following a well defined process. The candidate may serve as a project lead in one situation and be a resource on a team in another, including the potential management of internal and external relationships, i.e., consultants, users, etc.
The jobholder must frequently seek cooperation from, persuade or influence others, provide relationships and persuade others to resolve problems, change people's minds or produce customer satisfaction. The ability to listen to others and to develop a mutual understanding is a key requirement of the job.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
· Responsible for providing functional/configuration knowledge in designing solutions to meet business requirements.
· Understand new business strategies, provide recommendations for solutions to support strategies and implement the proposed solutions.
· Work within Information Systems and other business groups to prioritize and implement solutions, reporting and improving business processes.
· Work with business areas to understand problems and requirements with the system and recommends and develops specs to resolve them.
· Prepare detailed functional specs for development activities including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements and forms.
· Work on targeted projects with user groups to identify "as-is" and "to-be" processes, and capture these processes in documentation. This includes the gathering of business requirements as well as their translation to a technical specification.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
· No immediate supervisory responsibilities
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· 5 - 10 years related business analyst experience in a direct full time role.
· Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Fluency in English, oral and written is mandatory
· Other languages are preferred
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
10 - 30% Travel, both nationally and internationally

· Understanding of the basics of business process, and the technologies to support it, to the extent needed to capture them in business models
· Analysis of the process and re-use of existing models and standards in potentially a new configuration by thinking creatively to draft a solution that meets the users' needs and fits within the overall framework
Example: Each project and scenario provides unique challenges, and requires analysis of the process and re-use of existing processes and standards in a potentially new configuration.
Impact on External Contacts
· Facilitate understanding among internal and external customers through knowledge sharing / requirements gathering sessions.
Example: During a requirements gathering session, the modeler needs to ask the right questions, lead the discussion in the appropriate direction, and remain diplomatic while examining the business relationships within a given scenario.
Required Interpersonal Skills

The jobholder may consider whether new methods need to be developed (consistent with current policies or existing principles) to achieve the proper results. The jobholder is expected to examine the current processes / procedures and recommend changes to meet the immediate needs of the community.
Example: Through the use of current methodology, the jobholder will examine a process resented from one of our users and evaluate how the currently defined processes can be adjusted to accommodate. For example; a request to include the cross docking process into the existing functionality of our standards.
