Backup Analyst

Responsibilities

Midrange Enterprise Backup Specialist - Effectively work as a team member of the Atos Origin Midrange TSM Backup environment. Assist in planning and coordinating backup related activities with Customers, Atos Origin personnel and vendors; and assure maximum data availability and reliability. Work with backup automation and reporting software and function as an effective technical reference.

Requirements

5 - 7 years working experience in Midrange Enterprise Backup specializing in IBM's Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM). Must have excellent human relation skills. In-depth working knowledge of TSM for Wintel, VMWare, UNIX and Linux operating systems. Good verbal and written communication skills.

Skills: Proficient in Sizing and Planning of large TSM environments. Proficient in Wintel, VMWare, UNIX and Linux installations.Proficient in Data Base and Specialized Application Clients.Oracle, DB2 and SQL Server.SAP, PeopleSoft and Oracle Financials.Data Storage Policies.Licensing and Pricing of TSM.Client Operations, Scheduling and Routine Tasks. Leveraging SAN Environments and Server-Free Data movement. Specialize in Disaster Recover. NDMP and Bare Metal Machine Recovery. Proficient in Upgrading TSM. Proficient in writing TSM script. TSM Performance Management.

Additional experience with Midrange Enterprise Backup Software including HP Data Protector and Veritas NetBackup desired.

Limited travel required - less than 5%.

Education:
College degree and/or 5 - 7 years of IT experience, to include 5 years as a Enterprise Backup Administrator role or equivalent position.
