Backup and Restore Engineer

Job Description As the largest domain registrar in the world and largest hosting provider in North America Go Daddy is seeking a Backup and Restore Engineer.  The person filling this position must be a seasoned professional who has engineered, implemented and administered large scale NetBackup deployments.  The Backup and Restore Engineer will report to the Director, Information Technology and Engineering.  Responsibilities of the Role include but are not limited to:  The employee will be responsible for identifying, testing, evaluating, and documenting Backup and Restore solutions.  The employee will provide technical leadership and act a technical resource and mentor to the Backup and Restore Operations Team. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: Extensive experience with Symantec NetBackup technologies Experience with Virtual Tape Library (VTL) environments, disk-to-tape and disk-to-disk solutions Administrative scripting (ex: VBScript, ADSI, Perl, WMI, etc) Proven ability to implement new NetBackup Environments Test, research and implement new Disaster Recovery technologies Document Procedures for Disaster Recovery Operations Provide Escalation Support for Disaster Recovery Operations Collect Statistical information to monitor growth and report to management. Intermediate  knowledge of Windows Administration Experience managing large server environments (hundreds of servers) Demonstrated ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment with many deadlines and competing priorities Must work well under sustained pressure and deadlines The position requires exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, and the individual must possess a structured, methodical approach to systems administration.
