ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Benefits Coordinator position is responsible for managing RAND Worldwide’s US group benefit programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker’s compensation, life insurance, 401(k) plan). This role will be responsible for investigating new benefit programs and improving existing programs as well as designing employee benefit plans.
Client & Vendor Support Provide exceptional customer service to end clients through responsive, timely and professional responses. Serve as point of contact for all benefit-related issues and concerns for US operations Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators Processing Conduct benefit enrollment for new hires; work with payroll to ensure that all deductions are made accurately and on time ·Manage and coordinate annual benefit enrollment Maintain electronic and paper records for all benefit matters Investigate and resolve claim issues and discrepancies Coordinate daily benefit processing through such activities as: Enrollment, terminations, and changes Status changes Beneficiary election and changes Disability (STD/LTD) HRIS data entry requirements Billing and claims administration: Review monthly administrative billings for accuracy; allocate charges to appropriate business units; prepare invoice for Director’s approval Process monthly billings and prepare vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group plans. Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency. Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefit process Compliance & Reporting Ensure compliance with all government regulations, including required reports and communications Ensure compliance with all plan regulations, including communications and reports Research and Recommendations Analyze current benefits programs, evaluating usage, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience, and competitive trends in benefits programs. Analyze, research, and recommend new benefit programs and improvements to existing programs
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES Outstanding people and communication skills Ability to provide excellent client support 5-8 years of progressive experience in a benefits capacity Advanced knowledge and expertise with employee benefits (Group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker’s compensation, life insurance and 401(k), etc.) Excellent communication, computer, and organizational skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to multi-task along with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of a broad range of US benefits programs, plan design, documents, processing, and trends. Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefit programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, SECTION 125, Workers Compensation, Medicare, COBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
