Business Analyst with PM skills (Investment Banking)

Our client, a Global Investment Bank located in midtown, needs a BA/PM with an technical background, who has produced Functional Specifications and has been managing small projects in their most recent role

Department

The Product Control IT – Project Management and Analysis Team manages all medium to large scale projects in PCIT. Specifically, the team is responsible for managing all aspects of projects within PCIT, interfacing to the overall project management team (when a project is front to back), interfacing with the business and other development and testing teams. The team is also responsible for documenting functional specifications and occasionally business requirements when we partner with the business owners.

This position will support the project management and business analysis needs related to the Product Controllers and Regulatory space. The goal of the project is to improve and streamline the process of sourcing the Private Banking Landing products into the central HUB and will benefit processing of other products flowing through the Product Control and Basel2 architecture.

The initial focus will be on the Lombard Lending for New York Branch Private Banking business as part of the FSI. Financial Systems Initiative (FSI) project is a very large scale, multi-phase and multi-year undertaking. FSI is a new program driven by the CFO to define and implement a new strategy for Finance Systems across all areas of the firm. This role will support Process Lead in driving of initiatives and helping to lead the delivery of the IB Sales and Trading Data Hub, which will be a key component of the entire FSI architecture. 

Role:

· Document functional specifications based on business requirements

· Analyze Changes to Existing Systems

· Document existing Flows and future architectures

· Troubleshoot problems and issues within the lifecycle of a project

· Strategize and manage integration and functional testing

· Extensive interaction with the business, SCM and various IT departments

 

Requirements:

 

· Business Analyst experience

· Project management skills, including creation and tracking of the project plan

· Proficiency in creating Functional Specifications

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are a must

· Experience in investment banking and accounting is desirable

· Very familiar with SDLC phases and tasks

· Experience with loading data from outside sources into DWH or ODS, posting process, maybe some exposure to regulatory Huge plus

· Ability to perform gap analysis and document delta

· Ability to address, track and resolve issues and being very proactive doing that

· Ability to query Oracle database and some ability to understand existing SQL

· Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

· Able to define and document Test Strategy, Test Scenarios, etc.

· Interface between business, SPC and IT for all phases of the SDLC

· Investment Banking background is preferred, but Financial Industry a must
