Kaiser Permanente Information Technology (KP-IT) is the organization responsible for Information Technology (IT) services and development throughout Kaiser Permanente. By leveraging our size and investments, and developing common systems, we can enhance the delivery of care, minimize operating cost, and improve member satisfaction. We currently have an opportunity available for a seasoned Business Consulting Specialist to work at our Pasadena, Corona, or Walnut Creek, California locations.The Business Consulting Specialist at Kaiser Permanente supports the project start-up and expense tracking of multi-year, multi-million dollar projects (e.g. end-of-service-life server remediation program). The Specialist also supports the development of project request-for-proposals (RFPs) and vendor statement-of-work (SOW) for strategic infrastructure projects (e.g. disaster-recovery program implementation, server-lifecycle maintenance program). This individual also assists in establishing and improving support/training on project financial methodology to project managers, and supports routine program reviews and audits.As a Business Consulting Specialist, you must be hands-on with budget and expense tracking, variance reporting and forecasting for multi-year, multi-million dollar programs and projects. You will also contribute to the development of business cases from inception to approval, including low-level data gathering and analysis, cost estimating, assumptions and risk identification, commitment gathering, financial analysis, validation, proposal writing, presentations and documentation. Requirements for this position include a minimum of 10 years of financial management experience in a project-oriented IT environment, and bachelors degree in economics, finance, accounting, business, math or a related field, or equivalent experience. Candidate must be a results-oriented self-starter who can effectively navigate a large IT organization, and multitask on multiple projects with inflexible time commitments. This position also requires experience initiating and/or managing multiple projects with interdependent work tracks with capital budgets exceeding $10M. Candidates must possess excellent problem analysis and critical thinking skills, in addition to excellent verbal and written communication skills. Extensive experience in data gathering, data analysis and validation is also necessary, as is knowledge of data gathering and mining from electronic tools such as asset management databases, trouble-ticket systems, NIKU database, vendor reports, and 1-1 contacts with subject matter experts (SMEs) across KP-IT.
