Business Data Lead - SCM/PLM
Description:The Business Data Lead ensures the availability of high quality data for loading into SAP as part of each GPT release and supports the business effort to maintain / continuously improve that data after it becomes active in SAP. The Business Data Lead - SCM/PLM supports data objects primarily associated with Logistics, Manufacturing, MRP, procurement, Material Master, Bill of Materials (BOM) and other related objects. This particular position is primarily focused on Supply Chain Management (SCM) skills. The incumbent coordinates with the Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) streams, IT data quality resources and others to ensure the appropriate conversion rules and cross reference files are in place for loads of each object. The data lead also coordinates business resources to cleanse data in legacy systems prior to data conversion. The incumbent also works with business master data teams to continuously improve the data once it is in SAP and to assist with ad hoc analyses when required to address business operational issues that may arise. The Business Data Lead - SCM/PLM is a unique blend of strong IT data analysis skills and in-depth supply chain/materials planning business process knowledge.Scope:This position is a heavily matrixed role with project management responsibility for ensuring consistent high quality master data is available to support the initial implementation and ongoing maintenance of all business processes within GPT. The incumbent, working with DQ Master Data Analysts for each process stream must determine the data requirements for each process across all streams related to the particular business function they support. The data requirements must be viewed from a business perspective so that business needs are met and coordinated with representatives across all GPT teams to ensure consistency, completeness, accuracy and timeliness.The cross stream Business Function Data Lead will work with process owners to determine the appropriate metric to measure data quality at the data element level and coordinate with the IT Master Data Leads to develop and implement corresponding quality measurements. Subsequently, the incumbent will coordinate with the appropriate business unit organization to define data ownership and establish the necessary processes to ensure ongoing data quality at the data entry source. This effort will include close coordination with the data conversion team to identify deficiencies in legacy data that must be remedied by the data owner prior to moving the data into the SAP application.The Business Data Lead uses tools such as Excel, Access and TOAD to analyze data sets and determine the appropriate data set required for data loading, conversion program testing and ad hoc analysis. In addition, the incumbent must have (or develop) familiarity with SAP transaction codes used for data table review/query and for data entry to the objects for which they are responsible.Busienss Data Leads are assigned responsibility for specific data objects in SAP. The Business Data Lead has single point accountability for the on-time delivery of high quallity data meeting all data standards to support the initial implementation and ongoing maintenance of their data objects.Qualifications:BS Degree in business, engineering or other discipline aligned with the technical needs of this position. Advanced degree desirable.High degree of business knowledge and process experience related to supply chain management, manufacturing, logistics and materials. Three (3) to 8 years experience working with supply chain management business functions and associated data requirements is required. Familiarity with RACS legacy systems is desireable but not required. Familiarity with product life cycle management processes is a benefit, but not essential for this position.Experience in the design and deployment of an integrated business system; SAP experience or knowledge is desirable.
