Business Development Manager - Software

Responsibility:The BDM-Software requires an experienced software business development manager to own product requirements and competitive analysis in order to assist the business unit leader with pricing and go-to market strategy for Panduit’s Managed Network Systems Group.  The successful candidate will deliver to the MNS development team market intelligence, requirements, pricing information, and general knowledge of the solution by interacting with customers and sales personnel and attending technology conferences associated with network management tools and technology to ensure that Panduit’s solutions are best in class.  This BDM must have a track record of software product management for an enterprise level software company, with understanding of customer and business imperatives that are driving the use of Enterprise Management software tools.Specific Duties:· Identifying customer requirements and preferences based on a host of data points; translate these requirements into product features. · Prioritizing features into releases based on market realities and developing product roadmaps and migration strategies. · Work in cross-functional environments including marketing, customer support and engineering. · Successful collaboration with engineering team and organization. · Work with MNS leadership on go-to-market strategy, pricing, and product roadmap development. · Work with engineering manager, product management, and product development to understand product capabilities and customer usage. · Interact with customer and sales team for requirements and market feedback determination. · Meet regularly with development managers and development principals to assure adherence to requirements and implementation. · Work with internal testing team to help define test cases and test scenarios and perform other duties as assigned. Skills, Training, Experience Required:· BSEE, BSCE, or BSCS required, plus 7 years work experience with 4+ years of software product management experience, including a solid understanding of software product lifecycle management· Ability to solve complex issues to achieve objectives and deliver results on multiple projects in a complex, fast moving environment.· Strong strategy skills, with a can-do attitude and self-sufficient work style. · Skillful and polished in interacting with senior executives, sales personnel, and customers. · Must understand TCP/IP networking and protocols and trends in network/enterprise management, especially web-services and other technologies relevant to management of disparate network-based assets, including applications. · Experience with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), Operations Management and Services Delivery tools and processes· Experience with Software Marketing campaigns, global product launches, software presentation and demo skills· Ability to work with MNS marketing team to develop messaging and value proposition that appeals to C-level executives and other relevant decision makers.  · Strong understanding of the software development environment and related processes. · Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, planning, and quality management skills. · Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. · Proven ability to effectively collaborate with others, initiate actions, adapt to change, and accept challenging assignments.· Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Visio, and Project.
