Buyer Expert

“As part of our strategic growth, Amdocs is currently seeking a Buyer Expert located in Troy, MI.” Procure commodities and services required for the development, production and/or support of IT services and support Responsibilities: Maintains records on supply sources and leads and/or participates in the evaluation of potential suppliers for technical, financial, production and support capabilities Negotiate with Amdocs Suppliers to obtain the best price, terms, and conditions for new and existing contract awards and purchasing products for resale to our customers or for internal consumption Contacts potential suppliers for price quotations and delivery dates, evaluates price quotations, terms, quality, and delivery dates, and negotiates purchase cost, considering such items as price, yield, quantity, delivery performance, stocking programs, terms and responsiveness and prepares purchase documents Awards purchase orders; oversees every phase of the procurement process to conclusion, while documenting the entire transaction Coordinates purchases as required by end user(s), within technical and product support scope of work Train, mentor, or lead Junior Buyers in group Leads in the preparation of legal contracts among Amdocs’ end user(s) / corporate legal department and the supplier Evaluates price and delivery ramifications resulting from production schedule or technical changes; keeps management advised Decides and is responsible for supplier selection, pricing, PO terms and conditionsRequirements: Required Skills Three or more years purchasing experience with some of those years within computer industry dealing with hardware or software or other commodities as may be appropriate to the job. Above average contract negotiating experience Experience training or coaching junior-level purchasing professionals
