Position Type: Network Engineer   Position Duration: 2.5 month contract with extension  Location: Colorado Springs Colorado Description: Subcontractor will engage with other assigned project resources to provide services to migrate from current Cisco Pix firewalls to Cisco ASA's; responsibilities included but are not limited to: complete documentation for on-going delivery for the implementation, configuration and maintenance. Test and troubleshoot new ASA implementation for adherence to account security and expected functionality. This consultant must have strong skills with PIX and ASA's with experience with conduits. It would be extremely helpful if the candidate has performed a migration of multiple PIX devices to an ASA. Here are some of the basic job description and skill sets required: Provides network support to operational computer networks by performing the following duties: -Assembles and configures network components and associated services. Sets up and maintains basic network operations, including assembly of network hardware. Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems. Upgrades network hardware and software components as required. Installs, upgrades and configures network printing, directory structures, rights, security, software and files services. Provides users with network technical support. Responds to needs and questions of users concerning their access of network resources. Establishes network users, user environments, directories, and security for networks being installed. Installs and tests necessary software and hardware. Minimum Qualifications/Experience: Bachelor's degree in related discipline or one to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.  CCNP or equivalent with more than 8 years direct network experience Experience with PIX and ASAAdvanced computer knowledge and experience (to be determined based on specific assignment) The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for support of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN equipment, and all other communications-related equipment and software. These responsibilities will include administration of all network equipment and connectivity; assurance of network continuity; evaluation of network-related hardware and software products; network and systems security; and proactive performance and availability monitoring. This position also requires a knowledge base of load balancing hardware and software including Cisco Local Directors, Cisco Content Services Switches and F5 BIG-IP product running version 4.5.10 as well as version 9.x.
