Job Category:Server Support Leader Primary Location:USA-FL: FLORIDA-TAMPASchedule:Full-time Job Type:Regular Employee Status:RegularJob Posting: 04/28/2008Description: The GCCS Task Lead is responsible for ensuring system availability and reliability for the Global Command and Control System and related systems at the HQ USCENTCOM. Systems to be maintained are on SIPRNET and all coalition networks at both rear and forward headquarters locations. The lead prepares reports on status, outage, and performance of current systems and provides assessments of impact of new systems. Manages system administration of all C2 servers, all GCCS assets employed at USCENTCOM Headquarters.Essential Job Functions Provides technical expertise for appropriate level distributed systems environments on issues related to servers, local services, data centers, server configuration, and to ensure that client needs are met. Coordinates the efforts of other technical staff members. Provides consulting in requirements definition, specification, design, development, and integration of systems and network management on complex projects to ensure services adhere to client specifications. Investigates and resolves escalated issues within complex distributed systems environments and ensures provision of adequate technical and personnel resources are devoted to solutions. Reviews tests, integrations, maintenance, and solutions of less experienced personnel on larger projects, for appropriateness and accuracy. Provides feedback and advises changes. Communicates, maintains, and establishes principles, directions, and standards related to distributed system environments to meet client and company needs. Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. Staffs projects with appropriate personnel resources. Organizes and motivates project team members for one or more projects. Ensures communication and understanding of deadlines, assignments, and objectives. May perform the work of team member as well as lead. Oversees maintenance and supply of appropriate documentation for clients. Reviews and captures architecture plans for complex environments. Oversees the gathering of information used to create documentation, and suggest revisions as appropriate. Interacts with client and other appropriate personnel to determine adequacy and efficiency configuration management, inventory management, and trouble management support provided by less experienced personnel on servers or networks. Oversees and supports periodic maintenance and upgrades of environments. Performs risk and consequence assessment for projects; identifies cost reduction opportunities to safeguard company and client's interests. Assists client in setting the company distributed computing strategic technology direction based on experience and feedback form users. Assists customers with providing technical feedback. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred Seven or more years of related experience Experience working with computer server hardware, operating systems, and specific applications within distributed systems environments Experience working with the client's vision, business objectives and critical success factors Experience working with systems management frameworks, protocols and tools Experience working with appropriate software and hardware programs Other Qualifications Interpersonal skills to interact with clients, senior level personnel, and support staff Leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel Creative thinking and problem solving skills for designing, developing, and testing distributed computing systems Communication skills to interact with clients and team members Skilled in integrating distributed computing hardware and software systems Ability to lead and work in a team environment Ability to work independently without direct supervision Willingness to travel Remote Work Location Authorized:No Relocation Assistance:Not AvailableClearance Level:Secret Create Success
