Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
AMTI, an information technology company and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tetra Tech Inc., is seeking a corporate Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This individual will report directly to the President and operate as a key member of the Executive Leadership team. This individual will be responsible for developing the overall technology strategy and vision for the organization, working closely with Senior Program Managers in developing technical solutions for current and proposed programs, and representing the company at key technology events. This individual will be client facing and must have extensive experience in interacting with Federal and industry CIO-level executives on strategic and program-specific topics. Given the criticality of this role in developing go-to-market offerings and strategies, this individual must also have extensive business knowledge of the Federal IT environment and market, and be extremely current in key relevant trends and thrusts. Additionally, this individual will play an active role at the Tetra Tech level on a variety of strategies and business issues relating to information technology decisions. More specifically, activities will include: Play a key role in thought leadership of line staff Active role in the design and articulation of proposed technical solutions Advise and consult to senior level government clients on specific technical challenges or strategic technology decisions Participate in executive-level decision making regarding technology investment approaches Assess viability of various opportunities in light of internal technical capabilities and solutions Active participation in IT initiatives
The desired candidate will possess the following education, experience and skills: Demonstrated experience in delivering IT solutions in a business environment A strong understanding of the Federal acquisition process A strong understanding/appreciation of Federal compliance issues and policies The candidate must have Customer Centric focus Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities, standard hours occasionally as necessary to achieve objectives Represent the company in all strategic aspects in the area of Information Technology Develop and implement the overall long term IT strategies to meet the Company’s growth and business goals Develop Company budget for Information Technology Establish IT policies, procedures, and standards for the Company that support efficient operations and effective business operations which include security and acceptable use considerations Audits and reviews systems and practices to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards Identify new areas of technology that will benefit the Company and assist in meeting the Company’s growth goals Identify emerging technologies in areas in which the Company is already engaged Review, assess, and make recommendations as to existing technologies utilized by the Company Participate in the acquisition strategy and due diligence process for potential acquisitions companies Foster and maintain relationships with relevant organizations Perform specific management and budget oversight for relevant projects Manage new initiatives at the behest of the President Perform duties as the expert authority on Company global technology matters; responsible for review and or recommendations to the President in relevant matters
