CISCO NETWORK ENGINEER

 

SUMMARY: The primary purpose of the job is to provide Network Engineering support. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 

Experience in the design, implementation, and management of highly available local and wide area (LAN/WAN) networks. Candidate must demonstrate proficiency with engineering and documentation of various network configurations and topologies.  Must be well-versed in TCP/IP, frame relay, leased lines, and CSU/DSUs.  Extensive experience is required in the configuration of Cisco Catalyst switches, Cisco Routers; Firewalls, Network Security and ACLs; and routing protocols (EIGRP/OSPF). 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.

 

·  Provide creative solutions for interesting network requirements

·  Network monitoring,

·  Troubleshooting

·  Analysis of the network infrastructure for performance tuning

·  Capacity planning using protocol analyzers and HP Openview using SNMP.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
