JOB TITLE: Cisco VoIP Engineer
REPORTS TO: Sr. Manager – Technical & Data Support
SUMMARY:
Plan, design, implement, and support the voice infrastructure. Develop and implement the technical architecture and physical design of the network. Analyze existing voice and data networks and recommend solutions Set up, configure, and test Cisco Call Manager, Unity, Call Manager Express, Unity Express, Cisco LAN switches (core, distribution and access), Cisco firewalls, routers and voice gateways, etc. Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to complex hardware/software problems assist Sales Managers during the sales process by educating the customer about new technologies and IP Telephony methodology.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/QUALIFICATIONS:
· Responsible for the evaluation of vendor proposals and benefits of changes in hardware, communications protocols, switching methods, access methods, and tariffs, and in the procurement of software and hardware.
· Evaluate and implement new technologies must be to continually improve the network efficiency and reliability.
· Participates and consults in the planning, design and integration of new networks
· Develop a culture of mutual understanding between the functions of Sales and Service. This will entail the design and implementation of procedures and processes to demonstrate the responsibility of ownership areas and responsibilities.
· The ultimate goal is to encourage constructive communication between the groups that will encourage staff morale and present a united ‘Team’ approach to customers.
· Initiate and monitor a training program, to enable an increase of the expertise of all personnel.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
· Hands on experience designing and implementing Call Manager 3.x, 4.x & 5.x systems. CM 6.x, Cisco Routing & Switching and Multi-Cast experience also a plus.
· Hands on experience with Cisco Unity Voice Mail systems. Integration Identify the areas where immediate and long-term action is required. Experience with Nortel, PBX, and Avaya also a plus.
· Experience with IPCC Express (preferred)
· Hands on knowledge of signaling protocols and gateway configurations.
· CCNP or CCVP required, CCIE is a plus
· A comprehensive understanding of Telephony and marketing Data experience is essential, to address the business strategy effectively.
· A full understanding of the products distribution by BT is an essential requirement including a comprehensive knowledge of the BT processes from manufacturing through service to the customer.
· Service P&L responsibility and delivery of enhanced Service margins are essential.
· Four-year bachelor’s degree is required in related field
