Classroom Analyst
The Art Institute of Seattle is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Classroom Analyst within the Information Technology department. In consultation with the Director of Technology and the Technology Support Supervisor, the Classroom Analyst will be responsible for network infrastructure planning and implementation, network security planning and implementation, and network server planning and implementation. Will be available to plan, review, implement and administer proper security procedures on both the classroom and administrative networks of the school. Will serve in a consulting role for both lab technicians and faculty members. Incumbent must assure that the EDMC philosophy: quality services to clients; development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and environment which is conducive to innovation, positive thinking and expansion - is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position.
Key Job Elements:
1. Plan, review and implement classroom network schema to assure reliable and efficient network operations.
2. Plan, review and implement network security on the classroom network and on the DMZ network to assure classroom and web servers are secure from unauthorized access and tampering.
3. Assure all network systems are adequately maintained with minimal down time. Regularly check all network hardware, security logs, and report to DoT and TSS any problems or status concerns.
4. Configure classroom servers and local web servers. Provides on-site administration of all servers.
5. Plan, review and coordinate software and hardware testing of lab computers before the start of each quarter to assure reliable and efficient operations.
6. Provides OS support for MAC and PC workstations. Provide level 3 technical support for Lab Technicians.
7. Maintain a current inventory of all network and computer equipment on campus, including routers, switches, servers, computer lab equipment, and administrative computer related equipment.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
1. Knowledge:
a) Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technology field required.
b) MCSE professional certifications highly desired.
c) Two to three years of solid experience with LAN and WAN administration, including setting policies and security for Windows and MAC based networks all preferably in a post-secondary institution.
d) Two or more years of strong expertise with art/technology field related hardware and software packages as well as Networking infrastructures including switches, routers, firewalls, and remote communication.
e) Two or more years of field-related experience with file or web server administration including maintenance on Windows and Macintosh platforms.
f) Background in providing level III technical support to end users or to level one technical staff.

c) Superior organization, prioritization, self-motivation, and problem resolution skills.
d) Skilled in support of special art and technology hardware, software and peripherals.
3. Abilities:
a) Ability to analyze problems and recommend solutions.
b) Ability to interact effectively as either a leader or as a member of a team and work collaboratively with other departments.
c) Ability to listen to customers (e.g. students, staff, etc.) and to understand and respond positively to their requests
d) Ability to work without close supervision and to set one’s own priorities and work schedule.
e) Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance.
