Day to Day Work To provide on site field support for users, computers and infrastructure deployed by the Transportation Security Administration; to determine user needs; to install, maintain, upgrade, and configure computer hardware and software; to install, maintain, upgrade, and configure network hardware and software; assist with network administration activities and system security; assess user training needs and convey to Unisys PMO and perform related technical work as required.Key Duties: (Duties are representative and not inclusive and may vary with individual airport assignments.) Assigned at the local airport level to provide the Federal Security Director and subordinate staffing IT support. Acts as a technical resource in resolving problems with Win/Intel PC platforms; implements upgrades, patches or fixes as required. Acts as a technical resource for IT users; determine users' needs; work with PC users to resolve problems and provide guidance on a variety of hardware components and software programs. Perform backup activities including the backup of data from workstations and local servers; restoration of operating systems when required and the wiping of data from out of service systems. Installs COTS software, including installing new applications, installing upgrades and assisting users to solve software problems. Installs and configures specialized peripheral equipment, including troubleshooting problems with hardware and software. Installs and maintains network systems hardware and related peripheral equipment; performs basic network administration and security functions ensuring system integrity and security. Perform ad-hoc end-user training. Assists in the assessment of user training needs; conveys that to the Unisys PMO if an overall training program beyond ad-hoc training is needed.. Acts as a technical resource in assisting the resolution of problems with specialized and dedicated technology systems; may implement these solutions or coordinate with outside providers as required. Schedules and coordinates systems integration support and upgrades as provided by a managed services contract. Interfacing with Austin SPOC and Unisys Deployment Center in Reston. Performs related duties or responsibilities of a similar nature or level.
