Communications Engineer Simmons Bedding Company, maker of the world famous Beautyrest mattress, is actively recruiting for a Communications Engineer for our Atlanta, GA location.   DUTIES:   Administration of Nice application - call recording and archival system used in call center Maintain and support telecomm environment consisting of local and long distance trunking, MAC, ACD, IVR, CDR, and CMS. Configuration and administration of call reporting tools. Primary support for an evolving voice platform that includes a variety of PBX and IP systems at 20 or more locations. Support of VOIP call management on multiple platforms (Avaya and Cisco). Support of wireless environment for data and telephony and voice applications for remote worker configurations. Plan/source for wire/cable needs using the latest standards for industry materials, concepts and strategies. Provide assistance in troubleshooting and service support for critical LAN/WAN infrastructure components and circuitry. Establish and maintain automated tools and procedures for addressing alerts/alarms to minimize problem impact to mfg plants and administrative offices. Develop, integrate and implement network management tools/applications. Work with carriers to place orders for new services/moves and trouble shooting and support of existing services. Provide friendly courteous and helpful service to all customers. Maintain accurate and complete documentation of communications systems and applications supported. REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS: Strong project management, leadership and self-motivation. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work in a highly visible environment with minimal supervision. Customer service orientation. Experience with Avaya and Cisco IP enabled telephony solutions. Sound understanding of wiring and network theory to support and maintain drawings/schematics.  Basic understanding and troubleshooting ability in a Cisco switching, routing, and wireless environment. Experience working with national and local carriers of data and voice services to place orders and resolve problems Experience with CDR, ACD, and CMS supporting multiple call centers on Avaya platforms. Good working knowledge of network architecture for converged voice and data implementations. Experience supporting LAN and WAN environments supporting IP voice and data. Working knowledge of networking standards, protocols and Cisco IOS. Basic understanding of desktop and server platforms/software including; Microsoft OS, Microsoft Application and infrastructure report/alert utilities. Must be able to travel on short notice and be on call 24x7. EDUCATION:· BA/BS Computer/Business or comparable work experience required. Any applicable certifications are a plus.
