Communications Engineer w/ EE degree

Position requires an engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program; preferably an Electrical Engineer with a Civil background or a Civil Engineer with Electrical / Telecommunications background.Individual needs to have a background in communications systems; and be familiar with construction of communications facilities within electric/gas substation facilities. Professional Engineering license or having passed Engineering In Training (EIT) exam would be an added bonus.1. Perform tower structural analysis for the placement of antennas on Company towers. To include tower loading, shear/stress, and foundation support analysis.2. Responsible for construction of communications facilities such as communications buildings and antenna towers. Ensure facilities meet substation standards and safety requirements.3. Coordinate with other business units for the construction of communications infrastructure within substation and gas properties.4. Design and review construction material as it relates to communications facilities.5. Management of external contractors for the installation and repair of communications shelters and towers.6. Coordinate with FAA and FCC on antenna structures and monitor government regulatory issues to ensure Company compliance.7. Perform continuous reviews of existing communications infrastructure for capacity, performance, product and technology updates.8. Key technical contact to external cellular provider firms that lease both tower and communications shelter space9. Develop strategy and architecture for communications facilities.10. Manage lease facilities used for Company communications infrastructure.11. Oversee preventive maintenance inspections and modification of communications towers.12.
