 Configuration & Release Engineer Mervyns LLC, headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, is a family-friendly promotional neighborhood department store offering trend-right fashions and home decor for the entire family at affordable prices. Mervyns has a well-earned reputation for its extensive selection of national and private-label fashions and housewares. We are currently looking for an outstanding candidate for this position in the Information Technology area of our Corporate Headquarters in Hayward, California. Position Summary:The Configuration and Release Engineer will be responsible for the oversight, management, and troubleshooting of source control management and distribution using the Aldon tool. This position will also be responsible for working with developers to migrate code changes as necessary. This is a 7x24 responsibility for which this person will be the primary support individual for code migration across all the applications runs on multi-platform. Position Responsibilities: Responsible for supporting the application source control environment. Works with developers, managers and system administrators to ensure code promotion environments are compatible with production environments. Responsible for enforcing the Change Management policy prior to code promotion and will review production environment to ensure compliance through reporting and auditing of environments. Coordinates migration need to meet critical or time sensitive demands. In addition, works closely with the vendor to maintain the Aldon tool at the latest version and patch level and trouble shoot day to day problems with migrations.  Position Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in computer science, electrical engineering or information systems. Three to five years Information Technology experience, with two to four years of demonstrated experience with any of the following change control tools (Aldon/ Perforce / VSS / CMS / Turnover / Clearcase) from a user / admin and support perspective in a multi-application environment. Strong knowledge and administration experience in source control management and administration. · Hands-on preferably in LMi and LMe; supporting multiple platforms and integrating with the iSeries environment.· Strong experience with software development lifecycle and problem troubleshooting required.· Familiarity with AS/400 application structures & Open-Systems Standards.· Experience handling multiple applications / releases and its deployment across network. Basic system knowledge and experience with Windows systems. Hands-on AS/400 Systems operations and Administration is a PLUS. Retail systems experience desirable. Excellent verbal, presentation and written communications skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and reasoning/analytical skills. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Must be Customer and results focused. Will require 24x7x365 cell phone/pager accessibility.
