As part of the FTI team, the Consultant will be responsible for utilizing forensic and data mining tools to search, recover, sort and organize large amounts of electronic information in all phases of an investigation or litigation issue.

Responsibilities include:
• Working to de-duplicate, image, verify, analyze and transfer secure data sets from field investigations.
• Working to reconstruct medium and very large mail stores to facilitate forensic analysis.
• Working with off-the-shelf and proprietary data collection, analysis, and reporting tools.
• Providing assistance in the implementation of the NY forensics laboratory and reporting.
• Developing and conducting keyword searches in coordination with the engagement team to identify and tag evidence in electronic discovery efforts.
• Working within the boundaries of an overall practice methodology and blueprint.
• Ongoing analysis and deployment of best practices applicable to the handling and analysis of electronic computer forensics.
• Ongoing analysis of industry technology trends to incorporate proven forensic investigation and supporting technologies into practice.
• Participation in the development of customer proposals.
• Assistance in the development of white-papers, published reports, and articles relevant to the field of electronic discovery and reconstruction.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements:
• A degree in Computer Science, Computer Forensics, Management Information Systems or relevant course work
• 0 - 2 years experience in computer forensics, litigation support, information systems or other relevant experience
• A strong understanding of Windows based systems including installing, troubleshooting, and networking. Mac, Linux and UNIX experience a plus
• Demonstrable subject matter expertise in Email server environments, such as MS Exchange and Lotus Notes
• An understanding of electronic storage technology (hard disk, tape backup, flash memory, etc)
• Strong proficiency in the use of EnCase, Forensic Toolkit [FTK] and/or open source [Linux] forensic tools such as LinEN
• Knowledge of password cracking and file decryption software (PRTK, Rainbow Tables)
• Professional certifications preferred: EnCE / CCE / ACE or equivalent
• Industry certifications considered valuable to this position include: CompTIA A+ / MCSE / CISSP
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
• The ability to describe complex technical concepts and ideas in non-technical terms
• Ability to be creative and think outside of the box
• Programming or script writing skills in various program languages a plus
• Incoming professionals should expect at least 50% travel
