Corporate Lead IT Architect

Summary Supervises the definition and improvement of architecture standards and strategies. Provides technical leadership and architectural guidance in the formation of solutions that are innovative and aligned with business direction. Designs and develops innovative architectural recommendations within time, cost and quality constraints. Participates in the development and refinement of ITSS tactical and strategic standards and solutions. Participates in the development and refinement of Hitachi Corporate tactical and strategic standards and solutions. Researches, identifies and prioritizes best practices of participating Hitachi subsidiaries, Hitachi Limited and other relevant organizations. Utilizes the best combination of practices that fit into a cohesive structure. Ensures that the new tactical and strategic standards and solutions align with the technical and business requirements of ITSS stakeholders. Responsibilities Solutions Architecture •Supervises the definition and improvement of architecture standards and strategies. •Designs and develops innovative architectural recommendations within time, cost and quality constraints. •Assists in setting the technical direction for all IT projects for the organization. Provides technical leadership and architectural guidance in the formation of solutions that are innovative and aligned with business direction. •Participates in vendor selection/product selection decisions. •Provides consultative direction/support to staff on a variety of significant IT issues. •Evaluates both Hitachi and non- Hitachi technologies that can be applied to the development of new Hitachi integrated solutions. •Leverages product marketing, product and service development, market research, competitive analysis, software development and service delivery information and integrates into analyses and conclusions. •Periodically interviews Hitachi staff, Hitachi customers and other stakeholders to identify key issues and limitations, and market trends. •Develops solution/service definition briefs/specifications. Collaborates on the development of business plans for identified solutions. •Ensures knowledge transfer to other technical staff takes place. •Prepares clear, concise and accurate documentation. Standards and Solutions •Participates in the development and refinement of ITSS tactical and strategic standards and solutions. •Participates in the development and refinement of Hitachi Corporate tactical and strategic standards and solutions. •Researches, identifies and prioritizes best practices of participating Hitachi subsidiaries, Hitachi Limited and other relevant organizations. Utilizes the best combination of practices.

Required Skills •10 years experience, primarily in systems infrastructure. •Strong systems background preferred. •Project management experience required. •Proven success with multiple, large scale ($3 million plus) systems delivery. •Proven success with developing enterprise-wide architectures and strategies. •Experience working in a large, global organization.> Preferred Skills Technology specific skills: •Deep working knowledge of various platforms (e.g. Linux, Unix, Windows, Mac) •Deep working knowledge of IT infrastructure and application design and technologies •Well versed in database systems and technology •Expert in evaluation and remediation of systems performance and throughput Professional skills: •Excellent written and verbal communication skills. •Strong project management skills •Effectively manages time and stress. •Ability to use technical/functional expertise in area of responsibility •An energetic, resourceful and hands on individual with a strong customer service orientation, someone who commits himself/herself fully to the job and who is dedicated to developing and delivering outstanding work. •Ability to collaborate with patience while driving against tight timelines. •Ability to work cross-culturally, particularly with the Japanese. •Ability to understand, support, advocate and follow company values. •Change management skills. •Analytical reasoning, creativity, conceptual ability, critical thinking and judgment. •Ability to successfully manage several simultaneous priorities and projects with deadlines and effectively manage workload prioritization. •Ability to translate complex IT concepts into simple to understand explanations and vice versa.
