Syntellect, a leading provider of self-service speech and advanced call center solutions has immediate opening for a Customer Applications Engineer in our Oak Brook office. In this role, the person will perform the following job responsibilities:

 

· Perform advanced level troubleshooting for our external customers to uncover specific function problems, typically including phone switches, telephony, email server and web server integration

· Troubleshoot both proprietary products and 3rd party applications

· Provide account management to customers

· Research and determine proper resources to correct problems

· Interact with other departments to resolve customer issues

· Participate in second shift on-call pager rotation (once every other month for a week)

 

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:3 plus years of software application support experienceFamilarity with IVR's Excellent communication skillsAble to analyze the details of an issue and formulate an action planCandidate must be well versed in various operating system platforms such as Microsoft Server 2003, 2000, Vista, XP and Solaris. In addition, candidate must be familiar with client applications such as Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Also, the candidate must have an intermediate understanding of how systems administration and programming works. The position requires previous telephony or phone switch experience, exceptional customer service and problem solving skills.
