Are you ready?This new model is being established to increase operational efficiencies with respect to the application suites being supported. The applications being supported are targeted at the large Test and Production System Infrastructure that are used to run SQL Server based applications in a 24/7 fashion.Responsibilities:Provide second level (Tier 2) support to the business and Commercial customers on supported applications.o Troubleshoot systemic application and performance issueso Provide temporary workarounds for complex issues while working with development teams and customers on permanent solutions.Work with multiple dependent IT groups to ensure continued processing of revenue.Drive feedback into the development and test teams to improve efficiencies.Define and implement Operational Practices and Procedures.Ensure positive relationship management with end-users.Participate as a team member in the documentation, implementation and support of systems in the production and pre-production environment.Participate and ultimately lead implementation on new releasesAssist in the maintenance and customization of configuration management proceduresAssist in defining and the implementation of change managementDocument and investigate escalated issues and resolved them by using nonstandard or custom engineering practices.Customize standard processes and tools to document and analyze supportability trends and take action to resolve.Provide input for and assist in the implementation of strategies for disaster recovery, mitigation, contingency, and security plans.Assist in defining metrics and analyze system availability, capacity, performance, cost, and user experience trends.Assist in the tracking and investigation of problems by using standard and custom problem management tools and processesProvided ongoing training and mentoring of peers and junior team members with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of their workEnsure problems are resolved in a timely manner and tracked/escalated as appropriate.Provide direct customer support within the responsibilities of the teamAssist and make presentation to business usersBackground:BS/BA in computer science or related field and a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of training and related work experience.5 years of troubleshooting very large scale systems running on Windows 2003, SQL Server, SharePoint and IIS.A strong understanding of Microsoft Software Development Life Cycle a plusProven experience in application troubleshooting to include SQL stored procedures, jobs and performance monitoring.Thorough understanding of Client/Server technologiesGood understanding of system monitoring and application monitoring frameworks.Proven SQL Server 2000 or 2005 experienceWorking knowledge of Sharepoint Portal Server and Windows Sharepoint ServicesProven IIS experience to include ASP.NET, relation to COM+ objects, best practices preferred.Sound problem resolution and decision making skills.Strong technical design and process analysis skillsITIL/MOF Knowledge and experience a plusOur benefits plan and resources are designed to keep our most important assets, our employees, healthy, happy, and moving ahead at optimal speed.
