DB2 DBA
Job Description: Candidate will work under the Robbins-Gioia OIT Data Integration project manager to assist the government client in developing and implementing a data warehouse. The candidate will primarily receive direction and instruction from the DI Team Integration Lead and will interface with both colleagues and government clients to provide data integration and business analysis leading to a successful implementation of the data warehouse. Required Skills: This technical position requires a strong background in data base administration, design, development, and testing, and experience with data warehousing, especially if obtained on an enterprise level. Effective communications and excellent client management skills are desired. Knowledge of PMBOK methodologies, CMMI, and IEEE standards are a plus. Experience in administration of DB2 databases is mandatory.Undergraduate degree in computer sciences, information systems, or computer engineering is highly desired, especially with high information technology project interface, past experience on Oracle databases is also desired. The candidate shall demonstrate successful experience working on a project team on a data warehousing project from design to implementation. The candidate shall also have a demonstrated capability in developing custom databases and data warehouse software solutions; and translating application data needs into the production environment. The DBA, working with the Integration Lead, will convert DBMS systems from Oracle to DB2 environments, identify locations of data, tuning of data servers, system access and security profiles, and the overall operation of the project’s databases in an enterprise environment. The DBA will participate in the rollout plan to ensure all tasks necessary for bringing production, testing and development databases on-line are achieved. The candidate will: • Maintain and enhance the production system models, including Entity Relationship Diagrams, Data Dictionary, Process and Information Flow Diagrams, and other modeling tools• Provide data support at all levels of database support, from design to implementation • Assure adherence to data standards, interface guidelines, development methodologies, and modeling approaches • Monitor database performance, review logs, check backups, research data problems, make data corrections, tune the database, administer data security, and ensure overall reliability and integrity of the warehouse data environment • Implement the daily development tasks in accordance to development methodologies• Conduct final testing of production systems • Implement daily data base and data warehouse development tasks in accordance to development methodologies.• Provide estimates for development and implementation plans.• Develop estimates for planning and implementation of projects.• Review and document applications in all phases of development to ensure adherence to development standards.• Test applications in all phases of development to ensure proper functionality and end-user acceptance. • Create and carry out failover and back-up processes CIBER offers competitive salaries and benefits (health insurance, life & disability insurance), CBT training, tuition reimbursement, matching 401(k), and employee stock purchase plan.
