DBA - MySQL

We are currently interviewing for an DBA with MySQL who will be responsible for coordinating changes to the current MySQL databases, test and implement the new databases applying knowledge of RDBMS. You will plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer database as well.Position Responsibilities** Monitors, tests, and analyzes usage and performance patterns for databases used for a variety of applications, including public-facing applications, operational tools, and internal business and financial reporting.** Develops standards and guidelines to guide the design use and acquisition of software to maximize database performance and to protect vulnerable information.** Modifies existing Oracle databases and database management systems or directs programmers and analysts to make changes.** Test programs and databases, corrects errors and makes necessary modifications.** Plans, coordinates and implements security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, disclosure, or damage.** Approves, schedules, plans, and supervises the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems such as the installation of new databases.** Develops and advises others in the preparation data model describing data elements and hw they are used.** Develops methods for integrating different products so they work properly together such as customizing commercial databases to fit specific needs.**Minimum of 7 years experience in a data base administrator capacity.**Advanced knowledge and experience in logical and physical modeling, database design principles, database administration methodologies and techniques, system development lifecycle and system integration knowledge.** Must have Advanced knowledge and experience with MySQL and Oracle** Microsoft SQL experience a plus.** Knowledge and experience in various backup and recovery methodologies.** Knowledge and experience in installations, database creation, indexing, performance and memory tuning, query optimization, capacity planning, troubleshooting, data migration, and database security and storage procedures.** A bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field required.
