DBA/Sr. DBA Oracle
NATIONAL PEN is a leading global direct marketer of business-to-business promotional products. The Company manufactures or imports business related promotional and gift products such as writing instruments, desk accessories, wearables, calendars, and drinkwear that are then customized with a customer’s name, address, logo etc., using traditional laser engraving, silk screening or its proprietary technology for high speed digital image printing. National Pen primarily targets small businesses in the US and selected international markets and has manufacturing facilities in the US, Mexico and Ireland. The Company also has a retail division that sells similar products into retailers with logos or licensed designs.
Job Description:
The DBA/Sr. DBA will perform database maintenance tasks including installations, customizations, patching, cloning, debugging, security, access and tuning. Will be responsible for a high availability application and will demonstrate expert understanding of database capabilities, sizing and tuning. This position will also be expected to play a key consultative role in a cross functional team that includes developers, internal users, contract DBA's and off site hosting facilities.
* Research, recommend, plan, implement and document patches and changes to production and non production databases, applications and application stack.
* Liaise and manage hosting providers and contracted DBA resources. Ensure SLA's are being met.
* Support troubleshoot and resolve issues on production and non production instances.
* Provide system administration including concurrent manager configuration
* Install, upgrade, back up, clone and patch Oracle 1 1i applications
* Set up and maintain security
* Misc. others functions as assigned .
Experience: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent, 10 years related experience, 5 yrs supporting Oracle ERP and Oracle Databases, direct experience with Oracle 11i, including Oracle financials, MRP and i modules. Hands on experience developing, configuring and installing releases and upgrades.
