(www.glenmontgroup.com)Deploys and directly maintains key aspects of the firm’s computing infrastructure and application base including document management systems, messaging systems, single and multi-tier server applications, and desktop applications. Under the general direction and oversight of a Sr. or Principal Engineer.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Tests and deploys products and troubleshoots issues across many areas of technology including: - Windows/Unix naming, utility, and directory services such as Active Directory, DNS, WINS, NIS, DHCP, virus protection.- Messaging systems such as Exchange 2003, Blackberry Enterprise Server, IM gateways, PDA management, and 3rd party filtering services.- Multi-tier client server applications concerning document management, CRM, imaging, finance and billing, investment management. - Data storage deployment, support and provisioning with EMC Clariion, iSCSI, NAS, direct-attached storage, storage virtualization, Cisco and Brocade fiber channel switches.- Data replication tools and hardware such as EMC SRDF, EMC SANCopy/Mirrorview, NSI Doubletake, scripted utilities such as Robocopy.- Server provisioning, virtualization and management using VMWare ESX and management tools such as ESX Ranger and physical-to-virtual/virtual-to-physical conversion tools.- Client extranet and remote access using VPN, SSL, Citrix, other web-based systems. Resolves issues with the service level (access, stability, base functionality) of key enterprise applications, interfacing directly with other departments at key times. Redeploys and/or recovers entire applications at both the host, data source and geographic site level. Tests, troubleshoots and may package new desktop applications, most often as part of client/server application deployments but involving smaller standalone applications as well. Responds to assigned tasks that require immediate remediation, as required. § Contributes to the Firm's ServiceMatters initiative to consistently improve its image internally and externally.
