Summary
Work in Sacramento data center performing server maintenance, media backups and racking new equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Ensure new equipment is racked and cabled per scheduled dates.
· Ensure servers are repaired in timely manner.
· Provide media handling support for back up engineer
· Ensure site is clean, well documented, and all work conforms to production standards.
Will employee be managing/supervising employee(s)? No.
Qualifications
· Ability to support and manage multiple servers including Linux, Solaris, and Windows NT/2000. Including hardware and software troubleshooting and maintenance.
· Ability to work cross functionally in a positive and supportive manner. Must have excellent communication skills.
· Ability to develop, maintain and document processes, procedures and programs.
· Good understanding of Network and System Security, Network Topology and VPN solutions.
· Ability to practice good judgment in dealing with unforeseen issues that may arise.
· Willingness to take on any task and drive it to completion.
· Participate in 24 x 7 on call support.
· US Citizenship required.
· Minimal supervision required
· Federal government screening required
Experience
· 3+ years working in data center environment.
· 3+ years experience troubleshooting and repairing server technology.
· 3+ years in supporting Linux, Solaris, and Windows NT/2000 operating systems and Servers.
· 3+ years experience with server back ups.
Education
Bachelor Degree or equivalent required in a related field.
Any Technical certifications a plus
