Data Engineer

 Our company is experiencing high growth in a dynamic and challenging government environment.  Position is available for a Data Engineer to add to a highly skilled team in the area of Biometrics. 



 

Requirements:

Education:  4 year degree in a related discipline

Experience:  Minimum of 5 year of relevant work experience (not just textbook knowledge)

Travel:  Up to 25%

Other:  US citizenship and ability to pass a security clearance.  (Current DoD clearance is a plus.)

 

Job Responsibilities:

Data Modeler needed to support data modeling activities, data engineering analysis and architecture product development.

 

Specific duties include:

*  Developing logical and physical data models to support data interoperability in a

net-enabled environment.

*  Developing guidelines and processes to support the development of a suite of data products including (but not limited to) releases to existing data models, vocabularies, XML schemas, and meta data methodology.

*  Developing products to support system implementation of data products.

*  Promoting the use of common data products to facilitate the migration to a net-enabled environment.

*  Presenting work products in both small and large group settings.

 

Requirements:

Experience building logical data models utilizing tools, such as ERWIN or E/R Studio.

Experience with XML exchange modeling tools, such as XML Spy.

Experience in defining meta-data fro data elements.

Knowledge of interoperability assessments, systems engineering and interface requirements analysis methods.
