POSITION:  Data Management Specialist 

 

PURPOSE: Under general supervision, serves as the CRMHS application systems’ technical expert with respect to functionality and data. 

 

I. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

·  Develop overall system knowledge of all CRMHS applications systems including Avatar PM, Avatar AM, MIP, Ceridian, Iemployee, and Raiser’s Edge.

·  Document shared data between systems and the procedures by which data integrity is to be maintained.

·  Analyze each application’s current implementation to optimize its use in CRMHS operations.

·  Propose application solutions to identified agency issues.

·  Develop a detailed understanding of how the Avatar systems work.

·  Develop detailed knowledge of what Avatar data must be shared with external databases and the processes through which this takes place.

·  Coordinate the setup and configuration of all master tables, system defaults, and general system parameters of the Avatar systems.

·  Ensure that it is clear who is responsible for maintaining particular data in the Avatar systems.

·  Troubleshoot data  issues related to agency client information databases (Avatar PM and Avatar AM).

·  Enhance CRMHS staff’s ability to utilize the Avatar PM application system by creating and maintaining documentation on how each system is to be used in CRMHS operations and training staff on system use.

·  Create management tools and reports to support strategic and management objectives.

·  Organize the Avatar management tools and reports specific to CRMHS and document the function and usage of each.

·  Perform audits to ensure data quality and security.

 

II.  ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

·  Attend staff and planning meetings as scheduled.

·  Maintain communication and cooperative working relationships both within the agency and community at large.

·  Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

 

III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field, and at least 4 to 8 years experience in business processes and implementation and support of complex database-based, client-server applications. Ability to understand and relate business processes to system implementation. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.  Experience extracting data from databases using ODBC and tools such as Crystal Reports.  Advanced ability to use Excel to analyze and present data.  Good project management knowledge and experience.  Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff and executive team members, to maintain a professional work environment, to make decisions independently and in a timely manner, work well under pressure and meet compelling deadlines; and to be flexible in prioritizing tasks.

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Satisfactory results on a criminal background search.  Annual TB testing required.
